Along came a Spyder3...

Integrated Color is constantly testing sensors to determine what ones we should support and what ones we should offer with our software. Datacolor, by creating the Spyder3 has stepped up to the plate in a big way. New wide gamut displays require new instruments or custom tuned ones. We've done extensive testing with our software using the Spyder3 on many of the new wide gamut monitors and we're convinced it is a great sensor.

Datacolor has the following to say about the Spyder3:

Third Generation Spyder Technology

The Spyder3 colorimeter is based on a state-of-the-art optical design, with the industry's only 7 detector color engine and largest light aperture, providing unrivaled performance. In conjunction with the patented filter array,  Spyder3 provides industry-leading performance for the precision calibration of LCD, CRT, projector and notebook displays.

Elegant Form and Function

A unique fusion of design excellence and functionality, Spyder3 offers a smaller footprint, and LED indicator. Spyder3's desktop cradle can be used for storage, or tripod attachment. A beautiful addition to your desktop or studio, Spyder3 improves any color workflow.

Designed for Photographers

Spyder3 increases light sensitivity 400%. It also features the largest screen sample area or aperture in the industry resulting in improved accuracy on LCD screens and a faster calibration time. Three superior attachment methods - large area suction cup, counterweight, or tripod mount - can be used interchangeably to suit the needs of any photographer. Building on a foundation of 35 years of color science excellence, Datacolor designed the Spyder3 for the way photographers work.

Integrated Color offers a Coloreyes Display Pro and Spyder3 bundle

Integrated Color will continue to support
and bundle the DTP94

You may have heard that the XRite DTP-94 has been discontinued. Well, that is not exactly the entire story. They have discontinued retail sales of the DTP-94 but continue to manufacture and sell to a few devoted customers like Integrated Color Corp. One might think this would be a good time to switch sensors, however from our testing the 94 is the best instrument available. Third party testing has confirmed what we have known for some time The 94 is still the most accurate sensor for monitor calibration. Since they don't spoil and will provide years of great service to you we are going to continue to offer the 94 until there is a better choice.

If you own Monaco software and don’t want to orphan your 94, Coloreyes is the perfect update to your system. If you own Coloreyes and need a better sensor you can find the 94 here.

The Spyder2.

Long considered an inexpensive third choice for monitor profiling, it turns out that the Spyder2 is really quite good. We've done the testing, and we were impressed. ColorEyes will support the Spyder2 on the Mac and PC which provides the Spyder owner a nice upgrade path to more accurate monitor profiling.
